We’re excited to announce that Fieldcraft was named in the top 100 of startups for the Foodtech 500. Inspired by the Fortune 500, Forward Fooding created the FoodTech 500, the world’s first definitive list of global entrepreneurial talent at the intersection of food, technology and sustainability. For this year’s edition, Forward Fooding received thousands of applications from over 60 countries.
Fieldcraft is an Austin-based startup and farm to foodtech ingredient marketplace. Since launching in 2019, over 3000 buyers have joined Fieldcraft from emerging brands to 6 of the 10 largest food companies in the world. Suppliers range from a 25 acre orchard to a 40,000 acre operation and from local processors to global manufacturers.
Fieldcraft CEO and Co-Founder, Michael Chapman, comes from a farming community and has traveled across all seven continents. He’s passionate about agriculture and sees ingredients as the greatest opportunity to create sustainable food systems. He co-founded a CPG brand before Fieldcraft. Michael is a former Army Ranger, led special operations teams in the CIA and later served in the White House Situation Room.
The story of Fieldcraft began from the ground up. The platform connected specialty grain growers to buyers, helping them secure new markets and better prices than the big commodities. From there, Fieldcraft followed demand and connected the supply chain, becoming the first platform connecting the entire vertical of food production.
