Harvest Hop & Malt gives a personal commitment to top quality hops and malt for micro-breweries, distillers and bakers who appreciate organic Ontario grown ingredients. Harvest Hop & Malt is owned by Michael Driscoll, a long time supporter of the craft brewing industry. Founder of the former Sculler Brewing Company, Mike has an appreciation for the challenges and opportunities for Ontario breweries. A personal commitment to organic food has been translated to the operating principles of Harvest Hop & Malt. Only top quality product will be presented to customers who appreciate chemical free, local, organic ingredients. Expansion of Bertwell production is underway through growing arrangements with 4 other organic minded growers across Ontario. This year, 410 plants are at full maturity, for a total of 1120 in the ground for increased volume in 2-3 years. Customers will be able to advertise their 100 mile (or less!) supply, and be assured of predictable volumes every year. Using locally grown ingredients, telling the stories abut the farmers and maltsters who provided them, will educate the public to vote with their dollars for truly local beers!
