It’s time-consuming and challenging for sustainably minded brewers and distillers to transport their spent grain back to farmers for animal feed. And many produce more than the farmers can use. NETZRO saw this problem as an opportunity — to rescue and restore this grain.

Today, NETZRO is working with award-winning craft distillery, Tattersall Distilling, known for its sustainable practices. Tons of nutrient-rich, spend rye & corn grains are rescued by NETZRO every week. During the distilling process the sugars are extracted, then using NETZRO proprietary technology, the spent grains are restored leaving behind the nutritious fiber and protein. This marks the first time that upcycled grain from a distillery will be made commercially available as edible ingredients. NETZRO is currently reclaiming grain from various breweries in the Twin Cities of Minnesota.

Wholesalers, retailers, restaurants and consumers can purchase upcycled ingredients directly from NETZRO prepared to purchasers' spec. For each pound sold, Tattersall and NETZRO donate proceeds to The Artisan Grain Collaborative to promote a regenerative food system. Buyers can be assured that NETZRO is socially responsible, sharing profits with farmers in order to promote land stewardship.

The byproduct from cold-pressed juicing is a superfood ingredients, full of fiber, that is typically overlooked. In one week, thousands of pounds of organic produce pulp might be sent to the landfill from just one juicery! 

For every pound of juice produced, as much as one to four pounds of nutritious, fiber-rich pulp might be trashed. NETZRO can process this pulp into shelf stable bacteria free ingredient that can be a terrific additive to other food products.

In the US 105 billion eggs are produced per year. The majority of the eggshells are either landfilled or land applied. Mother nature created eggshells with its membrane to protect and nurture the embryo to grow into a chick. 

NETZRO's platform processes eggshell waste from egg producers separating the membrane from the shell creating two high value products; calcium carbonate (shell) and collagen protein (shell membrane) for animal and human consumption. NETZRO sells upcycled calcium and collagen to food manufacturers and licenses its platform to large egg processing facilities.
