The perfect substitute for brown and white sugar, Wholesome’s Organic Fair Trade Whole Cane Sugar (also known as Sucanat® or Panela) is a wholly unrefined cane sugar. Since Whole Cane Sugar still contains all of the sugarcane’s natural molasses, it has a deep brown color and a distinct, natural flavor that’s ideal for chocolate-based recipes, baked goods, BBQ sauces, marinades, and wholesome sweets aplenty.

Whole Cane Sugar is made by crushing freshly-cut sugarcane, extracting its juice, and heating the juice in a large vat. The heating process turns the juice into a rich dark syrup, which is subsequently cooled by continuous hand-paddling and stirring. Whole Cane Sugar consists of the flavorful dried granules left behind after the liquid is dehydrated.

Wholesome’s Organic Fair Trade Whole Cane Sugar contains trace amounts of iron, calcium, Vitamin B6, Potassium and Chromium. No chemicals, bone char, or animal byproducts are used during processing. Basically nothing is added or taken out, resulting in one of the best brown and white sugar substitutes on the market.

Natural Cane Sugar

Conventional (Non-GMO)

Perfect for baking luscious brownies, cookies and cakes, Wholesome’s Organic Coconut Palm Sugar is a rich, unrefined brown sugar that makes an ideal substitute for conventional brown and white sugar. Beyond baking, it’s an excellent choice for sweetening your preferred coffee, preparing sauces and perfecting your favorite Asian dishes, all thanks to its rich molasses taste and caramel overtones.

Contrary to its name, this sugar doesn’t actually come from a coconut, nor does it remotely taste like coconut. The brown sugar’s rich caramel flavor is produced by tapping the sweet nectar from the tropical coconut palm tree flower (a process that’s similar to how maple trees are tapped for maple syrup production).  The nutrient-rich juice is dried in a large open kettle drum and condensed into a delicious whole brown sugar. A natural sugar substitute for baking, this organic product will add depths of flavor to all your favorite recipes.

Organic Coconut Palm Sugar

Wholesome Organic Fair Trade Blue Agave is a low glycemic syrup that the body absorbs slowly, thus preventing any sudden spikes in blood sugar. This organic agave nectar is 25% percent sweeter than regular sugar, so adding a little goes a very long way. Be sure to use this agave syrup for baking, making margaritas and smoothies, and adding additional sweetness to strawberries.

A terrific substitute for conventional sugar,  this low glycemic syrup is absorbed by the body slowly, thus preventing sudden spikes in blood sugar. Twenty-five percent sweeter than sugar, it tastes absolutely delicious on pancakes, waffles and cereal. We also recommend trying it in oatmeal, smoothies and margaritas.
